Bumper-to-Bumper Limited Warranty
The Chevrolet bumper-to-bumper limited warranty lasts for 3 years or 36,000 miles. You won’t need to pay a deductible for any eligible repairs due to manufacturer defects.
Powertrain Limited Warranty
You will need to check with your dealer for specific details on your vehicle, but most new Chevy vehicles come with a 5 year/60,000-mile Powertrain limited warranty.
Emission Control System Limited Warranty
This warranty is for the emission control system. Coverage lasts for 2 years or up to 24,000 miles. Other specified components are covered for 8 years/80,000 miles. For vehicles with light or medium-duty emissions control systems, coverage lasts for 3 years/50,000 miles.
Electric & Hybrid Warranty
Vehicles purchased in the U.S. also come with a warranty for the electric and hybrid components that lasts 8 years or 100,000 miles.
CPO Warranty
All CPO Chevy vehicles come with two limited warranties. The Powertrain Limited warranty for CPO vehicles lasts for 6 years/100,000 miles, and the bumper-to-bumper limited warranty lasts for 12 months/12,000 miles.
What Is the Chevrolet Extended Warranty?
As your factory coverage comes to an end, you have the option to purchase an extended warranty from Chevrolet. Here are the details of its extended warranty:
Extended Limited Warranty
The Extended Limited Warranty is another option you can select at the time of purchase. It lasts for 5 years or up to 60,000 miles. Thus, it provides you with factory coverage for longer than the standard factory warranty.
This plan does not require any deductible. It’s directly backed by GM, with maintenance and repairs performed by Chevrolet Certified technicians. You can transfer this plan to new vehicle owners as well.
Chevrolet Platinum Protection Plan
The Chevrolet Platinum Protection plan allows you to expand your coverage on top of the factory warranty. With this plan, you get coverage for more parts of your specific vehicle. There are multiple plans available for:
- 24 months/24,000 miles
- 36 months/36,000 miles
- 48 months/48,000 miles
- 60 months/60,000 miles
Chevrolet Additional Extended Warranty Plans
Protection Plan
Get additional coverage on over 1,000 parts with this plan. Term lengths start at 24 months/24,000 miles and go up to 48 months/48,000 miles.
GAP Coverage
GAP coverage ensures you won’t have to repair a loan if the vehicle suffers a total loss. GAP coverage will pay for what you owe on the loan after insurance covers their portion for up to $125,000.
Term lengths vary from 12 to 84 months. It’s available for both new and leased vehicles at the time of purchased and may be canceled at any time.
Pre-Paid Maintenance
As with most extended warranties, the Chevrolet extended warranty does not include basic maintenance. However, they do offer this Pre-Paid Maintenance plan to help you make it more affordable.
It does not require a deductible and includes term options from 24 to 180 months. The first plan option includes oil changes and tire rotations, while the second also includes air filters, cabin air filters, spark plugs, and transmission/transfer case fluid. All maintenance for the plans is performed by a Chevrolet Certified service expert.
Tire & Wheel Protection
Protect your vehicle's tires with Chevrolet Tire and Wheel Protection or Chevrolet Tire and Wheel Protection Plus.
The coverage level varies between the two plans, but both do not require a deductible. They can be purchased for used, new, and leased vehicles and transferred to a new owner. Choose 1-5 year terms without mileage restrictions.
Appearance Gaurd
Appearance Guard offers cosmetic coverage for your Chevrolet. It covers things like windshield repair, dent repair, interior fabrics, key fobs, etc.
Plan terms range from 12 to 72 months and are transferable. You can purchase it for a used, new, or leased vehicle, and it includes a $0 deductible.

XS Wear Protection
XS Wear Lease Protection helps you cover your leased vehicle from “beyond normal wear and use.” It can help you avoid expensive fees for excess wear and tear on your leased vehicle. For example, it can cover you from small chips, cracks, or dents.
You can get this plan for new, leased vehicles during lease inception. It has a $0 deductible and is available for 12 to 60-month terms.
Advanced Lease Protection
Chevrolet Advanced Lease Protection offers maximum protection for your lease. It helps protect you from expensive repairs after the manufacturer’s warranty expires.
Choose a term from 24 to 48 months for your new, leased vehicle at the time of lease inception. You can cancel or transfer it at any time.
Chevrolet Extended Factory Maintenance
New Chevrolet vehicles come with one maintenance visit for an oil change, inspection, and tire rotation that you must use during the first year of ownership. You can extend the factory-included maintenance with this plan.
Chevrolet Extended Factory Maintenance includes three more visits (tire rotation, oil change, inspection) that you must use within the first two years of owning the vehicle.
Chevrolet Additional Benefits
The Chevrolet extended warranty plans include some key additional benefits such as:
- Rental Car Coverage: $40 per day for up to $280 per repair visit.
- Trip Interruption Coverage: Up to $200 per day for up to $800 total if the covered breakdown is 100 miles from home.
- Towing and Roadside assistance for up to $150
- Lost key and lockout service for up to $35 for a locksmith
- Onetime deductible only pays one deductible for a given part. Future repairs on the same part will not require a deductible
