Unfortunately, Utah does not offer incentives for the purchase of a new electric vehicle at this time. However, federal credits are available for EV buyers in the state if they fall below certain income caps and have enough tax liability to claim the incentive.

- PacifiCorp Level 2 Charger Rebate- Residential customers may qualify for rebates of up to $200 for Level 2 chargers on the approved chargers list.
- PacifiCorp Utah Electric Vehicle Pricing Plan- If you drive a plug-in electric vehicle, you can enroll in Utah’s time-of-use rate option. Under this option, the price you pay for electricity depends on when you use it. You may save money on your bill if you charge your car during off-peak hours.
- Utah High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) Lane Exemption- Vehicles operating on electricity are permitted to use HOV lanes, regardless of the number of passengers.

Yes, there are additional fees to pay when you purchase an EV in the state of Utah. A $120 registration fee is charged to make up for the tax revenue lost now that you will no longer buy gasoline or diesel. The amount falls to $52 for plug-in hybrids and $20 for hybrids without a plug. Utah also operates a voluntary pay-per-mile program called the Road Usage Charge, where lower mileage EV drivers could save by paying less than the flat annual EV registration fee.
