Although Texas offers no direct incentives for purchasing an electric vehicle, there are post-purchase offers in place to help you keep running costs to a minimum and save money in the long run.
Other EV Incentives Offered in Texas
The following post-purchase EV incentives available in Texas:
- Austin Energy and United Cooperative Services offers a rebate of 50% towards the purchase and install cost of a Level 2 charger. Note this is up to a maximum of $1,200 and off-peak rates also apply for home charging.
- Similarly, United Cooperative Services (UCS) gives its residential customers a 50% rebate towards home charging hardware, this time with a $500 limit.
- Entergy offers customers a $250 rebate for purchasing a Level 2 charging station.
- CPS Energy provides $250 in utility bill credit to residential customers with an EV for home charging installation. Note that this program permits CPS to adjust power delivery during periods of peak demand. EV owners can qualify for additional bill credits for charging during off-peak hours and limiting charging during peak times.
- Residential customers of SWEPCO who own or rent a single-family home can access a $250 rebate for the installation of an ENERGY STAR-certified Level 2 EV Charging Station.
