The 2022 Honda HR-V SUV comes in only 1 body type: SUV. The HR-V SUV is available in 4 different trim level options: LX, Sport, EX and EX-L. The LX is the base trim level option, while the EX-L is the highest, most expensive configuration.
With the Touring edition out of the lineup, the 2022 HR-V offers no changes over the previous year’s model except for a small increment in pricing for all trims. A 1.8-liter inline four-cylinder engine paired with a CVT is standard and can be mated to either front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive at all levels.
The base LX is absent of many of today’s most sought-after safety and infotainment technologies including forward collision warning and Apple CarPlay. Look to the Sport or higher for the best smartphone connectivity as well as a 7-inch touchscreen. EX and EX-L provide the best safety systems with collision mitigation, lane watch, and adaptive cruise control.
Of the four trims in the 2022 Honda HR-V lineup, we recommend going with the EX. Clearly, any of the upper HR-V trims mark a departure from the entry LX in both content and comfort. However, at the EX level, the most advanced safety systems kick in, as well as niceties such as heated seats and a moonroof.
In this guide, we will breakdown the differences between each Honda HR-V SUV configuration and help you determine which trim level to purchase.
Below is a table comparing some of the major features for the most popular Honda HR-V SUV trim levels.
