Tips for First Time Cat Buyers…Are You Sure You Want To Do This?

(of course you do, you can’t say no to our furry overlords)

  1. Be the crazy cat person you’ve always wanted to be.

Having just one cat gets you invited to the club, but the more you have, the more you can boast the title of “crazy cat person”.
Who needs neighbors when you have a gang of cats to protect your property?

As a bonus, all these cats will keep the solicitors away, which gives you more time to clean up after them.

Be the crazy cat person
More cats more mischief
  1. Mischief comes in pairs (or more).

Cats have an amazing ability to entertain themselves, by tormenting their owners or enjoying whatever mysteries an empty box brings.

We all know it, cats know exactly what you’re thinking and trying to do, so why not give them a partner to help plot against you. One could be on the lookout innocently staring at you, while the other goes around knocking down whatever is on the table.

Also, cats love to knead, also known as, making biscuits. Get a free massage by having multiple little furry helpers knead your back with love and affection

  1. Personality over looks…or not.

Each cat has their own unique personality, that’s why we love cats so much….and of course for how incredibly cute they all are. How could you say “no” to big saucer like eyes staring back at you?

Cats can be extremely shy. You won’t see or hear them... until they’re hungry, or feeling frisky, bouncing throughout your house at 4 AM. With endless personality types and looks, there’s certainly a cat that is right for you.

  1. Research Cats.

Just like with buying a new car, you want to prioritize the list of features for your new cat. Do you want...

    1. A Crossover Cat
    2. A Family Cat
    3. A Sporty Cat
    4. A Luxury Cat
    5. A Reliable Cat
    6. An Off-Road/Outdoor Cat

  1. Get a Cat Inspection.

The last thing you want is to take your new cat home and find issues. Get a detailed cat inspection from your local vet or get a free CatFax report. Be sure to check the cat’s previous owners and a detailed history report to see if it’s up to date on all its shots.

House ready for ne cat
  1. Is Your House Cat-Proofed?

Cats are always up to something, whether you’re aware of it or not. So, you should get your house ready for a new cat or for an additional one.

Is the toilet paper put on right? You don’t want to come home to a mound of unrolled toilet paper.

Do you have any plants? If so, make a choice now, cats and house plants don’t play nice.

Do you have a mental checklist of all the small spaces in your house? If you can’t find your cat, these are the first places you’re going to want to check.

Last but not least, cat hair, oh all that cat hair. Be prepared to deal with the seemingly endless amount of cat hair that will be a permanent addition to your house.

Cats are unpredictable and at times baffling, but they do it all for our affection and love. We put up with their antics and we let them invade our personal space because we can’t imagine a household without one (or two, or three or four...).

So be sure to show some love, and buy from a reputable source. With so many different types, there’s bound to be one that you can love and cherish.

If you were expecting to see four wheels instead of four legs (and a tail!) do not worry. We’ve got a variety of of car types from SUVs to trucks to family cars.

All purr-fect for getting you and your new furry friend from A to B in a flash. Take a look at the options that are on offer and compare on price, features and more!
